BSI Safe Driving Pledge

As part of our ongoing commitment to the health and safety of both our employees and members of the general public, BSI pledges to do everything it can to protect the road safety and wellbeing of its employees and other road users.

To support this, we are looking for the commitment of our staff who are required to drive on company business, to be as safe a driver as possible at all times and to abide by the following safe driver pledge.

In line with BSI’s UK Company Car Policy, I pledge to:

Comply with the Highway Code, Road Traffic Act and Health & Safety at Work Act at all times.
Adhere to all policies and guidance within the UK Company Car Policy https://intranet.bsi-global.com/HR/Documents/UK%20Company%20Car%20Policy%20-%20Feb%2023.pdf UK Travel Policy and all other appropriate BSI Policies.
Carry out vehicle checks as specified by the company and manufacturer’s instructions. “Safe driving depends on a safe vehicle.”
Immediately report any vehicle defects or safety concerns via Lex Autolease.
Accurately and honestly report all accidents or damage to the vehicle within the specified timescale.
Allow adequate time for journeys and ensure that breaks are taken at appropriate times.
Never drive if impaired, for example through fatigue, ill health or through the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Ensure that any vehicle I drive on BSI business is roadworthy and insured for business use.
Show consideration for the safety of passengers and other road users, including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
Maintain a positive attitude towards road safety at work and in my private driving.
